wishful thinking?

Posted: August 6, 2008 in bla bla bla, feelings, inside out, thoughts

why do people hope? why do we hold on to hope like naive innocent children when we know there is a (big) chance of disappointment? what is it about the thought of a better tomorrow or the thought of things working out like you’ve painted them in your head that keeps us going in life?Β or is it just a ray of light to hold onto through the darkest hours? could it be that hope is corelated to faith? our faith in God lets us know we will be ok, and keeps us sane, and keeps us from ending our lives.. so is hope a form of faith?

i sometimes think i shouldnt hope anymore, for anything! i had a lot of disappointments and was mad at my Creator many times (may He forgive me)…Β however, i still find myself hoping and wishing..

  2. yes it is, kind of hope mixed with faith, the will of life is what makes us continue and prevent us from killing ourselves no matter what

Stick to hope, coz no matter u thought u are disappointed, life keeps surprising u for ever

    Best wishes:)

the moral of the post is that even if we as humans wished never to have hope again, we cant! coz we have gr8 faith in God and ourselves and a better tomorrow.

    7aram, aleefeh ana 😦

Mayyasi: welcome to my box πŸ™‚

i am sticking, but sometimes i wonder why i am sticking πŸ˜‰
    thanks! u 2 :flower:

  5. Ammar says:

Hope is instinctive, one doesn’t lose hope, but might misplace it once in a while, it might be under a pile of realities but it’s there, and once we decide to use it, it jumps right at us.

There’s a poem by Emily Dickinson called Hope is The Thing With Feathers, check it out.

  6. Noura says:

I don’t know what to tell you.. am kinda in a dark hole myself but not loosing hope that there will be light at the end of this tunnel..my hope is a form of faith..My faith that Allah will be watching over me no matter where I am and where I end up..Whether I get my first pick or not I always get some type of consolation prize which makes me feel good..It proves to me that keeping the faith and hoping will be eventually rewarded..
    Good luck πŸ™‚

  7. Hope is the natural condition of a human, as automatic as breathing. Hope is an outgrowth of the survival instinct. It’s a lot more useful as a survival mechanism than despair. πŸ˜‰

  8. KJ says:

    No no

Hope is comforting but that doesn’t mean it is the only thing you should seek.

Hope should bring about an incentive to work to achieve that hope >>> goal.

The other form of hope is a euphemism for waiting for the results. People confuse these things!

  9. Verbal Alchemy says:

Ammar: ur right, more proof it is so much like faith! we might misplace it sometimes in our lives, but its instinctive.

i shall, thanks for the recommendation πŸ™‚

  10. Verbal Alchemy says:

Noura: lets hope that light at the end of the tunnel aint a train! πŸ˜‰

kidding, hope all goes well on ur side, w hope things fall into prespective. the key, from what i found, is doing all u can, then leaving some space for God to do His work. all the best :flower:

    Marv: nicely said : )

KJ: “The other form of hope is a euphemism for waiting for the results. People confuse these things!”

    i totally agree!

  13. NasEr says:

it definitely is ,its faith,in my case its faith in myself, i’m not really superstitious its all but a state of mind .
if you’re beaten in your head then you’re beaten already,if you’re not and still didn’t get what you want well at least you know you’ve done your part and didn’t give up.thats wut its all about .

  14. Hani Obaid says:

As long as you know hoping for the best won’t make things better, it is good because you can keep the positive outlook to keep your spirits up, and at the same time prepare for the worst.

  15. Verbal Alchemy says:

Naser: well yeah u do what u have to do, but there’s always a part of u wishing and hoping..

  16. Verbal Alchemy says:

Hani: i think what people generally do is hope and believe that hope will get them to a better place.. i agree with u however on this. one doesnt need to hope ultimately and get disappointed at some point, one shud be prepared for the worst scneario too..
