green tea, a fave of mine

and now it might become a fave of yours when you read the great things it does to your body! (and tips to make it do them even better!)

green tea is nature’s best anti oxident, so if u wanna keep a glow and age greacefully, green tea is ur best bet! also it flushes away toxins from ur body, which makes it ideal for people who r in the process of losing weight, it helps reduce water retention, green tea helps lower bad cholesterol levels and helps prevent tooth decay! (yes, less dentist time) also green tea helps prevent free radicals, a free radical is any molecular species capable of independent existence, that contains one or more unpaired electrons not contributing to intermolecular bonding, and is, in that sense, “free”, those can cause cancer, aging, DNA damage, and heart disease.. (extra info: smoking and alcohol increase free radicals).. green tea also helps an impaired immune system, in result, it helps prevent infections. there are many many benefits of green tea, and best of all is that it tastes great!

 to bring out the best of green tea, the following should be done:

1. dont drink it scalding hot, or when it turns cold.
it is said that any scalding hot liquid that enters the stomach hurts it. so in general, let your beverages cool down a little before you gulp them! as for coolness, cold green tea is said to gather phlegm.

2. Dont drink green tea with meals or on an empty stomach.
drinking tea on an empty stomach causes coldness to enter the lung and stomach system according to traditional chinese medecine.. western medicine suggetss that the alkaline nature of tea conflicts with the acids produced by the stomach. so drinking tea with meals will cause indigestion to people with sensetive stomachs.

3. Dont drink green tea with alcohol or medication.
it can interact with certain medications so better safe than sorry! try to avoid drinking green tea with medications, better have it after 3 hours of taking a pill. also drinking tea closely with alcohol can damage the kidneys and it might cause problems to the sexual system (we dowant that!)

4. Dont drink too much.
as with everything else, drink green tea in moderation. (3 cups is ideal per day).

    im not a fan of green tea…but i never really tried it..it just looks too watery to me…i’ll buy some today after gym…:)

    i thought i would hat5e green tea, till i tried it one day in a Chinese restaurant, it wasn’t that bad 🙂 add to it that it’s healthy kaman 🙂

  10. White tea is good too, but more hard-to-find, right? I can’t remember. My wife drinks Earl Grey, from her years in England. I like it okay. I prefer Celestial Seasonings’ Blueberry tea. That’s very yummy. And very blue.

  11. Marv: i donno but i do find white tea here.. i like earl grey, but the black/red one isnt a fave of mine. i prefer green or white, or minty/citrusy/fruity ones 😀

    i like the blueberry one as well! for the color mainly 😀 lol i used to get the blueberry-vanilla mix, smells divine 😮

    yea my nutritionist is trying to make me switch to make me substitute my coffee for green tea. It has a lot of benefits but I just can’t get used to the taste. I don’t like tea at all and green tea is just too much.

  15. asma: try different flavors of it, its SO much better than coffee, seriously my best friend drinks 6 mugs of turkish and 3 mugs of black american EVERY day, and she was suffering from the inside, she switched to green tea and dropped down to one cup (instead of mug) of turkish coffee, and she is so much healthier, even more radiant. it doesnt taste bad at all, try the minty one dont go for the basic green tea and u’ll get used to it, kel shi te3weed bel nehayeh 🙂
