ok why is it that most managers these days are complete jerks? the younger they are the worse it gets! seriously! my current boss is the worst i have ever met.. and he is only 34..!! i think being only 34 and now having become an MD for MENA Equities for the biggest bank in the world is a big thing.. but whatever happened to being humble bout your acheivements??? being nice to your subordinates?? being considerate and human for a change!?!?!? i mean.. in all my previous jobs, my bosses were amazing il7amdila.. my first full time job was also with a bank, in a team of 4, with a very reputed and ’mehyoob’ 32 y.o. man as a boss, but he was the sweetest thing when it came to the team! he was supportive, funny as hell, and a great listener.. and when it came to work, he was strict yet not suffocating. as long as we did our job well, delivered everything on time, he was the happiest, and so were we.. i guess they dont make em this way anymore.. or maybe its the inferiority complex of the nationality i am dealing with right now!

 i cant picture myself being the super-micro-managing boss one day, one who doesnt laugh or joke around with her colleagues, one who cant care for anything but numbers and figures.. i am a leader by nature, and i do want to be in upper management someday.. but if tension and pressure from the bosses senior to me will make me an inconsiderate ass, i seriously could do without..

1. Hong Kong: apparently having 4 of the 15 tallest towers in the world will make you the number 1 city!it is beautiful at night though, the magnificent architecture of the high rise buildings in hong kong is breath taking..

2. Chicago: ok im a little surprised since New York is the greatest city in the world in my green eyes! but Chicago was the birth of sky scrapers, surprisingly, they built the first sky scraper in chicago in 1885! the chicago park district is amazing, and the city at night, is a colorful masterpiece.

3. Shanghai: the beautiful city indeed.. although i would freak out and invest in a private jet to NOT drive over the crazy Nanpu bridge, i still cant deny its amazing. buildings are excessively tall, but beautifully designed and unique, and houses are authentic asian beauties..

4. New York: wall street, the opera house, the empire state building, lady liberty, Dylan’s candy shop!! ahhh.. New York, the home of new york cheesecake! this is MY favorite city ever.. noone knows why exactly, but NYC is the most charming city in the world. its on this list (i donno who came up with the list, i received it by email) because its versatile. the culture, the art, the music, the food, the places and faces of New York. i absolutely love it.

5. Tokyo: the most populated city by FAR! 32 million people! Technologically advanced, with great tall buildings, Japan is one of the most sophisticated asian cities, yet it still held on to its traditions. the cherry blossom festivals, the houses, the culture, the music, the geishas, its all so magical! (personally, i love the calligraphy!)

what do women want?

 the common question we see women demand an answer for (and almost never get one) is “what do men want?“, but i hereby ask: what do women want?!

im an observer, fascinated by mankind, always looking around to seek answers to yet un-asked questions, studying attitudes and -sometimes- analyzing behaviors.. thats wack i know but thats me! lol. and i keep coming across women who always want to change their men to more sensetive, caring, nurturing creatures who pay attention, cook, pamper and listen more often to anything besides the sound of their own voices.. or always complain that they cant ever meet anyone like that! (rings a bell?)

well i hate to be the bearer of bad news but heck, u wont! not coz they’re extinct, but coz they never existed! these qualities are mostly linked to women.. so i ask, why do women want to change men to women? keeping in mind that women dont even get along with most women! so what do women want exactly?

i think sorry isnt the hardest word to say these days.. i believe “will u marry me” r the hardest words nowadays!!

has it become so hard for men to propose? i mean ok dowry is on the rise, and inflation is a nightmare etc etc of all the materialistic issues.. but im talking love, wanting to spend ur life with someone, the need for stability, wanting a family, craving someone to take care of u and vice versa.. have men and women become so independant that they have have lost the need or want to be married? has it become so common to be in relationships that go nowhere with a sole purpose of hanging out and having fun and passing time that ppl lost the need to be in wedlock? has responsibility towards a family become so unbearable? i really dont get it.. i c girls who r beautiful, intelligent, worldly, decent, and still single after 35. and i come across men who r the perfect examples of the “perfect” men, yet rnt and dowanna get married, what is so scary?

1. Falling in love. (u bet!)

7. Passing your final exams with good grades. (especially if u dint bother studying!)
8. Being part of an interesting conversation.
9. Finding some money in some old pants. (and if ur broke it wud be an extra gr8 feeling)

13. “Accidentally” hearing someone say somthing good about you. (ego boost? maybe! but it is a nice feeling)

the indian guide to driving..

1. drive as slow as u can, even if u ARE on the left lane, just to irritate everyone around u, go home and smile at ur acheivement!
2. really be proud of ur suzuki 4×4 or any other car not classified as a hip 4×4 and think to urself ‘im the king of the world’ hence drive slowly as mentioned in point 1
3. have all the stuffed animals u can force into ur car, block all visibility and then back to point 1
4. should you be honked at/sworn at/given the finger/flashed all the highest levels of lights in the world, decide it might be another car and do not acknowledge the fury focused on u, and needless to say, keep driving slowly.
5. insist its called ‘veHicle’, stress on the H ..
6. should ur car be remotely scratched in a fender bender, never leave the scene and pull over to the side of the road, the bigger the traffic pile up the better u will feel bout it
7. always sport ur bluetooth device on the left ear and show off the technology u own to the world, it looks cool yaar!
8. ur allowed to stop at any point in the road to drop off/pick up someone from the sideway, the road is urs to abuse!
9. should someone be extremely pissed off at u and knocks on ur window to scream their tonsils off at u, dont even look at them and mind ur own business. keeping the straight face makes u the bigger person.
10. if ur on a bicycle, take any turn at any point and feel free to throw urself on any moving veHicle!

isnt it funny how when ur a 5 year old, anyone who’s ready to jump with you on a bed or build sand castles with you is automatically considered a friend, and if you were to share a sandwich they will be considered a best friend! but when you’re 25 or over it becomes so much harder to call almost anyone a friend??

is it the lack of quality people in this day and age? or is it losing the will (which sometimes comes with age) to socialize/give chances/get to know more people to filter and classify a good friend?

if jordanians r considered the grumpiest of all arabs, the brits must be their counterpart in the west!

i’ve worked with them and i vowed never to ever again! 2 years of being the only arab in an office of 32 brits and 2 south africans (those r amazing tho).. i think the brits enjoy being sarcastic and miserable.. & i think its only coz they HAVE to focus on some1 else’s life and faults but their own coz they cant handle it… and their chronic politeness is the most annoying bit of it all!!! i hate dealing with fake ppl, and being THAT courteous is so not genuine. its almost revolting. id rather deal with blunt, in-ur-face ppl, ones who speak their mind all the time rather than ones who try so hard not to ‘hurt’ others with saying what they think, as if ppl r made out of glass..

why did they have to get us a new (and brittish) head of department!!! i was happy walla

personally i am all for it! but then im a woman! lol, no seriously i accept it completley only if its reconstructive.. a face lift when u age, a tummy tuck when u lost a lot of weight, a broken nose being fixed, thats all fine by me.. in fact i think it helps lift the spirits more than anything anyone can say to un-depress a person.. but changing one’s looks just for the mere thought that they wud look better than the way God Almighty created them is a definite no!

Hime & Co, here i come!!

ok, the japanese, for a long time, have been the wackiest ppl in my book! they come up with the most rediculous inventions.. they r crazy with their pop culture, their dress sense is the least bit ‘normal’ and now they come up with this ‘benefit’ to working at Hime & Co!!! the heartbreak leave! yup, u heard me right.. if one of their employees is dealing with a bad break up or a divorce, they get a paid leave to just cope and get over it and come back with a more positive attitude, which i think is ok…

but get this, same company gives ’shopping leaves!!! so if there’s a sale and women wanna catch it bi rawa2 in the day time and NOT after work where places will be packed, SO they take PAIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDD leave to just go shop!!!!

have been away, since blogger is blocked at work, and i have a life after work, hence, i dont get online much.. so behold! a dose of my randomness!

• philipinos r the best in service industries by faaaarrrr! i am believing that more and more every day! they do have a bad habbit of singing all the time, in the worst places and times ever! but still, most of em have crappy jobs, and get paid in minumum wage, live from paycheck to paycheck, and yet they keep smiling.. and provide the best service.. singing gets them by i guess..

• i’ve always had a fear of boundaries, not clusterphobic per se, just cant stand being surrounded by borders.. like while driving, if i come to a point where there r those orange cones and the street goes a little tighter, i freak out! and hyperventilate until im done with that part of the road!i donno how wack is that, but i feel wierd!

• i hate hiccups!!!! oh and i hate sneezing too.. especially nowadays, hay fever is peaking! i just cant stop sneezing :wa3: and just like hal, i fear it!

• im so in love with the color purple! all freaking shades of it! :mushy:

1. this one keeps ringing until u put the ‘puzzle’ together.. of course, when ur half asleep it will take a while, in which, u wud have completely woken up!

2. if u were able to stay awake after putting the puzzle clock together. this will give u a challenge! it actually flees and moves around in the room until u find it to stop the alarm morning excercise! lol

3. if that dint work, this will deffinitely wake up once and for all! all u need to do is just push the button.. BUT every time its a different button!! lol ray2een
